Detailed description

More about your experience with us

Laying in the plains of Western Ukraine, on the trails between Lviv and Kyiv, Pochayiv Lavra is one of the most fascinating monasteries in Ukraine. Founded by monks from the Cave Monastery in Kyiv, you can see some of the most beautiful church cathedrals in the country and experience the devotion of its visitors.

Experience the religious traditions of Pochayiv Lavra

Our guides will be happy to show you this beautiful place and explain you it’s history. For those not from Ukraine, we are happy to share an insight into the religious history of this region and explain you the differences and customs of between the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Kyiv Patriarchate, of Moscow Patriarchate and the Ukrainian Autocephalous Orthodox Church. Come and dive with us into a day of spiritual experience!

Pidkamin Monastery and Devil’s Rock included

Less well known but still a nice side trip on the road trip to Pochayiv and back is Pidkamin. This small town features a bizarre rock formation that gave the town it’s name (Kamin means rock and pid means under). The inselberg sticks out of the landscape and is sure worth a visit. The Greek-Catholic monastery of Pidkamin is currently being renovated but is impressive to visit anyways. Most days you will be alone in this area. It is a great way to see some of Ukraines beautiful countryside.
